Why Sarathi

A sarathi drives. You travel.

We are a small team in Ahmedabad running 250+ holidays across India and sixty countries. Not a marketplace, not a reseller — the same people plan your trip, book it and stay on the phone while you are away.

The name

It means the one who holds the reins.

In the Mahabharata, Krishna does not fight at Kurukshetra. He drives. The sarathi knows the ground, reads the weather, picks the line and keeps the chariot steady so the person riding can look up and see where they are.

That is the whole idea behind the company, and it is a fair description of what a good tour operator actually does. You should be looking out of the window. Somebody else should be worrying about whether the pass is open.

What we promise

Six things we will not do to you.

Most complaints about travel agents come down to the same handful of habits. These are ours in reverse.

One price, written down

What's included is listed. What isn't is listed too. No surprise supplements at the hotel counter and no "plus taxes" discovered on the last day.

Hotels named before you pay

You get the actual property name for every night, not "3-star or similar". If a hotel changes we tell you before the trip, not at check-in.

The same person throughout

One WhatsApp thread from first enquiry to the day you land back home. No ticket numbers, no being handed to a different desk halfway through.

We say when it's a bad idea

Spiti in April, Kashmir in peak July, Europe on a nine-day visa window. If the trip you want won't work on those dates, we'll say so rather than sell it.

Visas and forex handled

International trips include documentation, appointment slots and forex guidance. You aren't left assembling a bank statement three days before the flight.

A plan B for the road

Passes close, ferries cancel, flights move. We keep a fallback for each leg and reroute rather than cancel — and any genuine extra night is passed on at cost.

Ask us about day four

Covering 250+ destinations is easy. Knowing them is the hard part.

Every one of our 250+ itineraries is one we operate. Pick any package, ask what happens on the fourth afternoon, and you'll get a straight answer from someone who has been there.

The difference

How we work, next to how it usually goes.

Not a dig at anyone in particular — these are just the things travellers tell us went wrong last time.

How it works

Four steps, then you pack.

1

2

We send the plan

Day-by-day itinerary, hotels named, inclusions listed, one final price.

3

Confirm with 25%

Balance seven days before departure. Cancellation terms in writing first.

4

You travel

Transfers, stays and sightseeing handled. We stay reachable the whole way.
